We’re looking for a National Countryside Manager – Filming & Locations to join our team part-time. This is a unique opportunity to work with the National Trust, caring for landscapes, coastlines, and historic sites so people and nature can thrive.
You’ll support and advise on filming across the outdoor places we care for in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. With our Filming & Locations team growing, it’s an exciting time to help shape and manage commercial filming at National Trust sites.
What it's like to work here
This role involves travel across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to meet partners. With over 150 new filming enquiries each month and multiple productions on-site daily, you’ll work closely with internal consultants, Operational Risk Business Partners, and central and operational teams, even when working remotely. We're open to discussing a working pattern at interview stage, but please note there will be a requirement to join our team meetings on a Wednesday.
As this is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing
You’ll oversee filming at the outdoor places we care for, ensuring the right people are involved at the right time. You'll make sure activities comply with legislation and uphold National Trust conservation standards, providing guidance from proposal to evaluation.
You’ll manage ecological consultants and rangers supporting on-site filming and apply lessons learned to improve best practices. There’s also scope to network externally and promote our filming work.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role.
