Job description

They are seeking an experienced Catastrophe Modelling Lead to join their Risk Analytics team.

  • Location: London
  • Type: Permanent

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • The successful candidate will be based in London and will play a crucial role in driving the strategic direction and technical excellence of their analytics products and services.
  • This senior role requires a combination of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and exceptional leadership skills to support the analytics leadership team and ensure the successful delivery of the Property Risk Analyzer.
  • Nat Cat risk modelling architect for Property Risk Analyzer (and other related tools).
  • Oversight and accountability of the technical excellence of the tool, including technical design and implementation, testing and enforcement of acceptance criteria, and developing solutions for issues or edge cases identified.
  • Working closely with a dynamic and high-energy Catastrophe Modeling team to provide support to brokers and other colleagues to resolve issues and interpret nat-cat modelling results.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering etc.).
  • Proven experience in catastrophe modelling and risk analytics.
  • Deep understanding of various catastrophe models (e.g. Impact Forecasting, RMS, Verisk etc.).
  • Strong computing and programming skills (e.g. Matlab, R).
  • Knowledge about structured databases and geographical information systems is preferred.
  • Experience in property risk broking is preferred.
