Job description

Nanny / Mothers Help job - Nr Hay on Wye, Powys Wales - Full-time - Live in or Daily – Salary Negotiable and subject to experience

Our client is looking for an experienced and down to earth candidate to take on a role working in a busy family home set overlooking the Black Mountains in a stunning location. The household has two school aged children and a baby due in July.

The family are looking for someone who is emotionally intelligent, caring, kind, child centred, highly communicative and adaptive to the family needs.

Both parents run their own businesses/freelance and as a result have a need to be away from the family home at unpredictable intervals. They need someone who can play a support role when they are there, and also take over when they are away, with kindness, flexibility and energy. Although the priority will be the new baby, in addition to the baby’s needs, both boys have health challenges that mean they are frequently at home and home-schooled by tutors on occasion. The Nanny / Mothers Help will need to be as comfortable with meeting the needs of teenagers as they are with a newborn/toddler.

The Nanny / Mothers Help will be required to travel with the family, house and dog sit and get stuck in with a variety of tasks as the family’s needs dictate. You will be rewarded by joining a family in a beautiful home and location who are passionate about seeking the joy in life every single day.

As well as assisting with childcare and helping with the newborn, you will also be required to help with driving and school runs. The family employ a cleaner so it would be helpful if the Nanny / Mothers Help could help to keep the house organised, especially the children’s areas and also help with the children’s and family laundry.

It would also be a bonus if the candidate was happy to cook for the family, preparing some simple fresh home cooked meals and batch cooking.

This is a wonderful role for the right candidate and an opportunity to work for an open and warm family.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidates must have experience of working with newborns and teens.
  • This will be a full-time role working a maximum 7.30 to 6.00, normally less.
  • 6-8 weeks per year house and dog sitting or travelling with the family.
  • Occasional babysitting and proxy parenting overnight.
  • Enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid also required.
  • Salary will be competitive and in reflection of the candidates’ skills and experience.
  • Accommodation could also be provided if required.
  • Start ASAP but by 1st June 2025.
