Thenamed nurse will work in a team of competent safeguarding practitioners allcommitted to making a difference through the safeguarding agenda. The namednurse will work across the safeguarding agenda and will support thesafeguarding team to discharge its safeguarding children, adults, and MentalCapacity Act (MCA) statutory duties and responsibilities.
Therole will be responsible for producing high quality analytical reports tosupport the Serious Review Process which will include Domestic HomicideReviews, Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Safeguarding Adult reviews.
Thepost holder will hold line management responsibilities within the safeguardingteam and support the Designated and Named Nurses to deliver an inclusiveworking environment that nurtures learning and effective provision of qualityservices. They will play a key role in developing and supporting othersinformed by the appraisal process, fostering inclusivity, diversity andequality.
Thepost holder will work in partnership to support stakeholders including healthproviders, NHS E/I, the children and adult safeguarding partnership/ board,advocacy services and other health and non-health partners in carrying outtheir safeguarding responsibilities and in embedding the principles of the MCA.

Somekey aspects of the role
Workin partnership to support stakeholders including health providers, NHS E/I,the children and adult safeguarding partnership/ board, advocacy services andother health and non-health partners in carrying out their safeguardingresponsibilities and in embedding the principles of the MCA.
Contributeto Safeguarding Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews and other safeguardingboard led reviews and meetings on behalf of the ICB producing high quality,analytical reports.
Propose,contribute to, develop, and implement single and multi-agency strategies,policies, procedures, practice guidance and protocols relating tosafeguarding.
Leadon the dissemination and embedding of learning resulting from single andmulti-agency reviews and audits.
Supportthe Designated/ Deputy Designated Nurses in providing nursing leadership tothe health economy.
Supportand play an active role in the Safeguarding and MCA training strategy.
Participateand deputise for the Designated Nurses, Deputy Designated Nurse and MCA Leadand where necessary at multi-agency subgroups of the LSCP/LSAB, MCA/LIN andSafer Stronger Communities
Workclosely with colleagues in the ICB to provide safeguarding health specialistadvice within the Serious Incident process.
Takea lead role in line management across the team.
Providetimely, specialist safeguarding advice across the health economy in Leedsutilising a variety of communication methods.
GiveMCA advice to ICB staff, commissioned services and partner agencies and toescalate queries and complex cases to MCA Lead.
Advisepartner agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding children andadults at risk including advice on highly complex, contentious safeguardingissues.
Providesupport and specialist safeguarding to ICB staff and with support from MCALead and Deputy Designated Nurse for safeguarding
Workautonomously with significant discretion to occupational and organisationalpolicy including multi-agency safeguarding policies, procedures, andprotocol.
Takea lead, role alongside the Named GPs for safeguarding in improvingsafeguarding practice within primary care.
Maintainconfidentiality and adhere to the principles of data security and dataprotection.
Followa professional Code of Conduct, where relevant to the post.
Participatein the organisational appraisal process.
Beexpected to undertake ongoing professional and personal development in linewith the responsibilities of the post.
