MySQL DBA

MySQL DBA - Manchester (Hybrid) £65,000

This is a great opportunity for a DBA with MySQL or MariaDB experience to work for a well-established Northern organisation with consistent turnover and a high volume user base.

Based in Manchester (2 days a week in office), the role offers £65,000 with an added annual performance bonus.

Day to day:

• Ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases
• Supporting the live system and understanding all elements of the platform
• Handling common DBA tasks such as upgrades, backup, recovery, migrations etc.
• Monitoring and managing multiple data replication streams
• Resolving issues within agreed SLAs and liaising with Support Desk and Development teams to achieve resolution
• Carrying out RCA on all new issues
• Carrying out peer reviews and enabling Release process
• Writing and executing test plans for all changes
• Ensuring that solutions and processes are documented to a high standard

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience as a DBA with previous roles focusing on MySQL or MariaDB
• Experience in a 24/7, high traffic OLTP environment
• Strong understanding of database performance monitoring and analysis
• Working knowledge of RDBMS systems with an emphasis on MySQL
• Experience in handling database performance optimisation via query or DB optimisation
