The Medical Division at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust provides Acute care across the range of medical specialities in a large modern purpose-built hospital in Wakefield, which includes a large Acute Assessment Unit, Acute Elderly Assessment Unit, Coronary Care and Acute (Respiratory) Care Unit.
Successful applicants will support the Respiratory Medicine specialty team in the management of their in-patient & outpatient workload and will participate in the Trust-wide out-of-hours cover across both hospital sites.
In 2019 the Respiratory Team were Clinical Team of the Year in our Celebrating Excellence awards. We believe that we have continued to provide a high standard of care despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Job responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in Respiratory at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust (MYTT) on a fixed term basis for 12 months. This post will participate in the cross site senior trainee General Medicine Registrar On-Call rota. Applicants will have the same educational opportunities as other trainees and have protected SDT timetabled.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts. However, the post-holders will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities within the Trust and specialties.
Terms & Conditions and Tenure
Employment will be as a MYDoc Clinical Fellow on Trust Terms and Conditions of Service. The initial tenure of post will be 12 months with the option to extend for a further 2 years by mutual agreement and on satisfactory performance.
Appointment as a MYDoc Clinical Fellow is intended to be for a maximum three-year period as part of an individual development programme for the Doctor.
Pay Scale
These roles are equivalent to a doctor on specialty training programmes and will be paid on the equivalent pay scale. The salary scale commences at £61,825 per annum.
