CPFT are inviting enthusiastic and dedicated Old Age Psychiatrists to apply for posts in our community based services to provide excellent care to the population of Cambridgeshire.

Two posts are currently available covering Peterborough and Fenland.

The Community facing services in CPFT for older people are managed within the Older People and Adult Community Directorate, OPAC. Our integrated model of care brings together staff delivering physical healthcare and mental healthcare for the elderly to maximise benefits for our patients.

A key focus for the delivery of community care are integrated, multidisciplinary, multi-agency neighbourhood teams (NTs).

Main duties of the job

Clinical:

  1. To lead the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent psychiatric care.
  2. To provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans. This includes working with patients with functional and organic illness.
  3. To lead weekly MDT meetings and ensure prompt reviews of acutely unwell patients.
  4. To work closely with the CRHTT OP, community teams and liaison services as patients move between these teams.
  5. The Trust is actively involved in clinical research and would encourage candidates to participate in research activities.
