About the role:

  • Design and implement engaging music lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Teach students how to play various instruments, fostering both individual and group skills.
  • Organize and lead school concerts, recitals, and community performances to showcase student talents.
  • Maintain a positive and structured learning environment that supports all students.
  • Encourage students to express themselves through music, promoting creativity and confidence.
  • Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate music across different subjects and enhance overall learning.
  • Provide guidance on vocal techniques and performance skills for choirs and individual singers.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have the right to work within the UK.
  • Have experience working within a classroom.
  • Be DBS registered on the update system or willing to purchase one.
  • Be comfortable and adaptable working in different environments.
  • Have good knowledge of the Music Curriculum.
  • Marking and planning are compulsory with this role.
  • Have strong classroom management skills.
  • Hold a QTS, PGCE, or overseas equivalent to UK qualifications.
