General Overview:
Equans are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Technician - Mechanical, based at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospitals site, but may also infrequently be required to cover Burnley General Hospital. The Multi-Skilled Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards and provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in mechanical systems. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The Technician will have technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area and will form part of the out of hours on call rota. Flexible working hours required.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
TRAINING
Impact:
The individual will play a vital role to Equans, working alongside other colleagues in the team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.
Complexity:
We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the maintenance team at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. They will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with other team members. The individual should have ambitions to progress within a company that offers plentiful opportunities to develop.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
Essential:
- Must have completed a recognised and accredited apprenticeship
- ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial/ industrial environment providing building services maintenance.
- Must have experience and understanding of large complex systems
- Experience of working on or with two or more of AHU's, Vent, FCU's, LTHW, L8, Pumps, Pipework, Valves, and other mechanical systems.
- Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
- PPM & Reactive Work
Desirable:
- Use of a Building Management System (BMS)
- Pressure Systems/ Steam raising boiler plant
- HVAC
- Competent Person/ Authorised Person experience
- Healthcare experience would be an advantage. But further training and familiarisation will be offered for the right candidate.
