Job Role: Multi-skilled Packaging Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Job Location: Chester, Cheshire - Deesside area

Job Reward: £50,000 plus Bens

Our client is a renowned and admired FMCG manufacturing giant enjoying dominance and market leading status in their category sector. An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Multiskilled Packaging Maintenance Engineer; electrical or mechanical bias, to hit the ground running on SHIFT.

Key Responsibilities - Multi-Skilled Packaging Engineer
  1. Responsible for a combination of planned and reactive maintenance and technical challenges to ensure maximum line efficiency.
  2. Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on a range of PLC controlled warehouse equipment.
  3. Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring a rapid response on plant equipment and machinery breakdowns.
  4. Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of Automation machinery including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and robots.
  5. Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI's through planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
  6. Ensure the efficient running of a continuous process, moving and packing high quality products, packaged and prepared for delivery.
  7. Continually improving performance of equipment and systems to support the development of the site.
  8. Agree preventative electrical maintenance plans.
Qualifications & Requirements - Multiskilled Packaging Engineer
  1. Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline mechanical or electrical in maintenance engineering.
  2. Ideally packaging and related slicing, dicing, thermoforming packaging machines.
  3. Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in FMC.
  4. A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
  5. Computer literate.
