Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)

Location: [Wakefield]

Salary: [£56000k to £62000k] + Benefits

Shift Pattern: [4 on 4 off NIGHT shift]

We're looking for a proactive and multi-skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our fast-paced food manufacturing site.

As a key part of our Engineering Team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our production lines run safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

About the Role:

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you'll work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise machine performance — whilst maintaining our high standards for safety, quality, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver a timely and effective engineering service to production operations.
2. Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with schedules within the CMMS system.
3. Attend, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns quickly and safely.
4. Report all actions taken and escalate any further work required.
5. Continuously develop engineering systems to eliminate repeat failures and drive performance improvements.
6. Support delivery of KPI targets including waste reduction, efficiency, machine uptime, and OEE.
7. Share knowledge and train others to improve team capability and flexibility.
8. Work collaboratively with all site functions to deliver daily, weekly, and longer-term operational goals.
9. Help foster a positive and proactive working culture through clear communication and consistent behaviours.

What We're Looking For:

1. Time-served Electrical mechanical Maintenance Engineer, ideally multi-skilled.
2. Experience within a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
3. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
4. Knowledge of PPM systems and reactive maintenance.
5. Good understanding of Health & Safety, food hygiene, and quality standards.
6. Ability to coach and support others within the team.
7. Relevant engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
