A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a Shift Engineer to join its engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering & Operations Manager, this role will support the site's performance through both proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns, ensuring equipment is always running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in line with schedules and industry best practices
2. Respond swiftly and effectively to machinery and plant breakdowns, minimising downtime
3. Overhaul and repair equipment to ensure it is safe, operational, and fit for purpose
4. Assist with the design, installation, and relocation of machinery
5. Complete suitable risk assessments prior to maintenance activities
6. Work on single and three-phase electrical systems
7. Maintain and repair site facilities and services
8. Promote and adhere to site-wide Health & Safety practices and procedures
9. Communicate effectively across departments and escalate issues as required
10. Maintain accurate records via time/task sheets in accordance with site procedures
11. Provide out-of-hours support where required (on-call rota)

Key Skills & Experience:

1. Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
2. Multi-skilled engineer - mechanical bias with strong electrical knowledge
3. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a food production environment
4. Good working knowledge of BRC standards
5. Holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
6. Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Proactive, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement
