Job Description

A leading Facilities Maintenance service provider is seeking an experienced and versatile Multi-Skilled Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their on-site engineering team at a prestigious, high-profile trophy building in Central London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and motivated individual to work within a flagship site, supporting critical building services and delivering first-class maintenance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
  2. Maintain and service electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, control panels, emergency lighting, and fire alarms.
  3. Perform mechanical maintenance on HVAC plant, pumps, valves, AHUs, FCUs, pipework, and basic plumbing systems.
  4. Conduct regular site inspections, plant checks, and monitor BMS systems to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Provide first-line fault diagnosis and repair, escalating complex issues where necessary.
  6. Complete all relevant documentation accurately, including maintenance logs, compliance paperwork, and risk assessments.
  7. Support other on-site engineers and subcontractors to ensure smooth, efficient site operations.
  8. Ensure adherence to health & safety protocols, including safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
  9. Offer suggestions for continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives where appropriate.

Key Requirements:

  1. Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) - Essential.
  2. Proven experience in building services maintenance within a commercial environment, ideally in a prestigious or high-end setting.
  3. Strong multi-skilled knowledge, able to work confidently on both electrical and mechanical systems.
  4. Competence in fault finding, planned maintenance, and compliance procedures.
  5. Familiarity with BMS systems and working within SLA/KPI-driven environments.
  6. Excellent communication skills and client-facing approach.
  7. A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.
  8. Knowledge of relevant regulations, including health & safety legislation.
