Position: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire

Shift Pattern: Afternoons 14:00 > 22:00 Monday > Thursday / Friday 12:00 > 18:00

Our client specialises in food production and is a leading innovator in the industry. They create exciting, original products that meet the needs of today's busy consumers.

They are looking for an Engineer who has a bias towards one area of engineering, ideally electrical, and some strong knowledge and experience of working with a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fabrication and machining products.

The machinery and equipment they have onsite includes conveyors, sealers, weighers, metal detectors, depositors, and cutters. An ability to service and maintain a number of these is highly advantageous, however you wouldn't be expected to be an expert in all areas.

The key elements of the role are to drive the Engineering team to continuously improve the availability and reliability of all equipment and produce products in a safe and cost-effective manner.

  1. To comply with relevant Engineering specifications, and Environmental, Health & Safety policies and current legislation.
  2. To assist the Engineering Manager with the maintenance strategy to achieve site and business goals including proactive maintenance.
  3. To assist with the implementation plan to deliver the strategy with clear accountabilities, milestones, and targets, using best practice tools and techniques.
  4. Identify compliance and improvement opportunities with respect to equipment upgrade and / or replacement and manage accordingly.
  5. Complete/task engineering workload in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and Operations colleagues.
  6. Facilitation of any staff members involved with operation of the plant has received the appropriate information and instruction as per the manufacturer's guidance and advice.
  7. To have machine/process operational skills to provide cover, supervision and offer improvement and development insight.
  8. Any other responsibilities commensurate with the post.
  9. Any other reasonable requests made by the senior team.

AFTERNOON SHIFT 14:00 > 22:00 Monday > Thursday / Friday 12:00 > 18:00

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Electrical Engineering: 2 years (preferred)
