We have a fantastic opportunity for a Multiskilled Engineer to join our brilliant team in Nottingham!

Location: Nottingham

Hours: 6pm – 6am (3 on 3 off shift pattern – 12 hours shifts)

Salary: £54,439 per annum

General Responsibilities And Expectations
  1. Attend and diagnose breakdown repairs in a cost-effective timely manner to ensure production targets are met.
  2. Identify solutions to reduce wastage and improve labour requirements on plant.
  3. Complete all designated PPMs to the correct standard.
  4. All stores’ stock/spares are booked out on every occasion and at the time of removal from stores. Highlight any shortages or discrepancies.
  5. Decision making and expert support to the business operation.
  6. Support the QA team in ensuring all aspects of the QMS for engineering practices are carried out.
  7. Record all work details using CMMS. Entries onto the system to be of a sufficient standard for the purpose of reference and traceability.
  8. Carry out repairs to the plant and infrastructure using all procedural controls and following GMP procedures.
  9. Maintain toolbox standards and toolbox inventory.
  10. Maintain personal workspace when carrying out work on the shop floor and in the workshop. Complete tasks in full including full aftermath control.
  11. Wearing PPE appropriately and correctly.
  12. Support colleagues ensuring that they adopt the correct operating procedures.
  13. Provide supervision and guidance to contractors ensuring company standards are met.
  14. Communicate to your Team Leader any concerns about colleagues working practices or welfare.
  15. Ensure H&S is not compromised in any way by yourself or others.
  16. Follow & adhere to all H&S procedures, ensuring you do not put yourself or others at risk.
  17. Ensure that equipment is used safely, and all defects are reported promptly to the appropriate function.
  18. Awareness of PUWER and HASAW regulations as a priority in understanding the safe use of work equipment.
  19. Ensure own skills are kept up to date by identifying and notifying Shift Manager of requirements.
  20. Support the development of others within the maintenance department by sharing skills.
  21. Provide training of Operators in basic maintenance skills to assist in the joint achievement of factory objectives and performance targets.
  22. To contribute to development of new working methods and actively participate in continuous improvement.
  23. To contribute possible solutions to operational problems and to progress appropriate solutions.
  24. To provide logical reasoning and approaches to engineering and operational issues and identify potential CI initiatives.
  25. Analysis and fault-finding Mechanical/Electrical breakdowns.
  26. Performing PPMs and repairs methodically and efficiently to the highest engineering standards.
  27. Ensure all respective corrective actions are carried out and recorded on CMM System.
  28. Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail with good analytical and reporting skills.
  29. Always demonstrate a first-class work ethic.
  30. To build and develop first class relationships with all site functions.
  31. Electrical bias desirable.
  32. Demonstrable electrical engineering experience preferably gained in a food or FMCG industry or similar field of manufacturing.
  33. First class fault finding skills.
  34. Working knowledge of relevant electrical/control principles and practices.
  35. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and documentation.
  36. Working knowledge of PLC systems. Siemens would be beneficial.
  37. Working knowledge and understanding of AC/DC motors and controls.
  38. Good understanding of mechanical systems including servo-controlled equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  39. Competent in workshop skills including simple fabrication, plant refurbishment and use of small machine tools.
  40. Must be computer literate and conversant with CMMS.
