Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Salary: up to £48k (DOE)

About the Company

Our client seeks a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure our production lines run smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role

You'll be the backbone of our maintenance operations, responsible for the upkeep and repair of a diverse range of production equipment. Your work will involve:

  1. Proactive Maintenance: Executing planned preventative maintenance schedules, diligently recording all activities in our Computerised Maintenance Management System (Mainsaver).
  2. Reactive Repairs: Swiftly diagnosing and resolving equipment faults, minimising downtime, and conducting thorough root cause analysis.
  3. Safety and Quality: Adhering strictly to food safety, health and safety, and quality standards in all tasks.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiency and participating in improvement projects.
  5. Inventory Management: Ensuring the right engineering supplies are available for maintenance tasks.
  6. Communication: Providing clear updates to the Engineering Shift Manager, Engineering Manager, and Production Manager on maintenance activities and downtime.
  7. GMP Compliance: Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including workshop and toolboxes, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  8. Operator Support: Assisting in training operators on basic asset care.

Qualifications

  1. A fully qualified, apprentice-trained, Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  2. Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (FMCG).
  3. Solid experience within the food manufacturing/processing sector.
  4. A self-motivated and independent worker.
  5. Proficient in computer use.
  6. Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Required Skills

You'll work alongside other skilled Multi-Skilled Engineers. Holiday cover will be shared amongst your peers.

Preferred Skills

Strict adherence to food safety, health and safety, and quality regulations. Efficient and effective delivery of maintenance tasks. Accurate and timely recording of maintenance activities in the CMMS. Effective cost management of maintenance supplies.

Pay range and compensation package

This role requires a flexible and dedicated approach. You may be asked to perform other duties as needed. Flexibility is required to meet the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Salary is between £46000 - £48000 and offers a working pattern of 4 on 4 off, (two dayshift, two nightshift – 7-7.)
