Your Key Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will work on a specific, meaningful project, supporting the MSCI Sustainability Institute. The experience could involve helping with conducting research, analytical tasks involving programming, and supporting the proactive management of stakeholder relationships.

You will gain hands-on experience working with sustainable finance datasets used by institutional investors to examine trends and generate insights. A key aspect of the role is collaborating with senior researchers at MSCI and external organizations to contribute to research papers. The ideal candidate should be comfortable conducting in-depth research, synthesizing findings, and co-authoring publications that advance thought leadership.

Your Skills and Experience that Will Help You Excel:
  1. Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Finance, Sustainability). MBA candidates preferred but not required.
  2. Strong interest in financial markets and sustainability, with a preference for candidates who have an understanding of private markets (private equity and credit).
  3. Strong communication and quantitative skills.
  4. Strong ability to code and visualize data - competence in Python strongly preferable.
  5. Some exposure to the academic literature on ESG/sustainable finance.
  6. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for excellence.
  7. Navigate hurdles with entrepreneurial spirit to develop new business.
  8. High attention to detail and good team player.
  9. Strong analytical, data-driven, and problem-solving skills, ability to break down complex issues.
  10. Ability to prioritize effectively and work under time constraints.
