Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a full-time MFL teacher to work at one of our partnered schools in Small Heath, Birmingham. The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time and be available up until the end of this academic year!
About the role:
Focus on developing the four main language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Help students with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structure.
Encourage communication in the target language through interactive activities like role-plays, discussions, and debates.
Plan and deliver lessons according to the school's curriculum and the language requirements (French, Spanish, German, Italian, etc.).
Create engaging and diverse lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
Regularly assess students’ progress through written tests, oral exams, and assignments.
Provide feedback to help students improve their language skills.
Prepare students for external exams (e.g., GCSEs, A-levels, or equivalent).
Establish a positive learning environment that encourages participation.
Manage classroom behavior while maintaining a focus on language learning.
Tailor lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported appropriately.
Qualifications Needed:
Degree in Modern Languages or Education: Most MFL teachers hold a degree in the language they wish to teach or a related field, such as linguistics or education.
Teaching Qualification: MFL teachers are required to have a teaching certification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent, to work in schools.
Fluency in the Target Language(s): Depending on the language(s) being taught, proficiency (often measured through a language proficiency exam) is required.
