An opportunity has arisen for a Modelling & Simulation Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the role

To develop and use our vehicle and energy management simulation tools in order to maximise performance.

What you will do

• Develop advanced vehicle models across a range of software applications and languages in order to understand & improve our vehicle performance.
• Write in-house software applications to optimise our in-car energy management strategy.
• Use the latest methods in Machine Learning to produce predictive models for vehicle systems.
• Improve the performance and accuracy of existing models and algorithms.
• Continually research simulation methods to ensure our models and algorithms are industry-leading.
• Work closely with race engineering & simulator departments to deliver accurate simulation results, both pre & in-race/test.
• Support race and test events with analytical support & performance advice.
• Pro-actively lead model correlation activities to improve simulation accuracy.

About you

• Previous experience in industry and/or Academia in vehicle simulation and optimisation.
• Strong degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Maths, minimum Masters level.
• Proficiency and interest in computational methods and numerical analysis.
• Proficient with programming and analysis languages e.g. Matlab, Python, JavaScript, C++, C, & C#.
• Good familiarity with various optimisation theories, linear optimal control, and mathematical solver types.
• Experience with Simulink, Canopy & Simpack is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Tyres, Vehicle Dynamics & Aerodynamics. Experience with performance control systems is an advantage.
