YBS is going through a transformation journey and with this, our Risk teams are growing to ensure we can support and protect the Society. We have created some new Lead Manager vacancies in our Prudential Risk team to oversee our Model Risk and this position is one of these new roles.
We are looking for someone to join the team as a Model Risk Oversight Lead Manager to be a subject matter expert in model risk validation for our colleagues up to Board level and externally to the regulator.
About the Role
You will be responsible for leading the 2nd line model risk validation team to provide validation and oversight of all the Society’s models.
You’ll provide independent insight and oversight on the design, implementation and model use to the Society’s Model Risk Committee, covering all models employed including (but not limited to) the IRB Rating system, Retail Credit, ALM and Finance Models.
You will lead the model risk oversight validation team to ensure all activities operate within the Group’s risk appetite and comply with internal policies and all regulatory standards / guidance.
You will be partnering with key business stakeholders and divisions to drive the embedding of Model Risk and EUC risk best practice in YBS, acting as a key strategic enabler for Model Risk to enable the business to better understand and manage the associated risk profile.
About You
You must have a background within risk management within the banking sector, with a good understanding of modelling approaches, and providing model validation across a range of models, in particular Retail Credit/IRB, ALM and Finance.
Due to the level of stakeholders you will be working with you must have excellent communication skills and be able to translate technical concepts and facts into clear and understandable information for colleagues.
