We are looking to recruit a motivated, organised and enthusiastic Dentist who will be working within our Primary Health Care team, here at the Dental Centre at RAF Honington.

This is a part time role, offering 30 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing clinical outputs and work should be directed towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of service personnel. You will attribute about 2 hours per week to non-clinical activities including practice meetings, training, and personal admin.

Job responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Inspecting all personnel for whom they are responsible at intervals in accordance with The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines and providing follow-up treatment as required.
• Providing an occupational oral health assessment, being fully conversant with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Dental Fitness categorisation and dental input into the Joint Medical Employment Standard for Service personnel.
• Ensuring that surgery management, documentation including consumable stores, the safe custody of personal sensitive data and the maintenance of equipment is kept to a high standard at all times.
• Working collaboratively with professional colleagues and in the best interests of patients.
• Onward referral of personnel to enhanced practitioners, specialists or consultants for treatment as appropriate.
• Ensuring that contemporaneous notes are recorded on individuals integrated electronic healthcare records for all episodes of care.

Qualifications

• Have undertaken Foundation Dentist Certified completion of Dental Foundation Training in the UK or equivalent or have evidence of at least 24 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience derived in a primary dental care setting or have qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the NHS.
• To ensure patient safety, applicants are required to have maintain evidence of clinical currency, specifically a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.

Registrations and Memberships

• Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration with no restrictions.
