Mobile Maintenance Technician
London (Within M25)
Permanent

1st Step Solutions are working on behalf of one of the UK's leading commercial interiors & fit out providers that have an opportunity for an experienced Mobile Maintenance Technician to join their division.

This will be a mobile role in which you will be required to attend projects throughout London.

Role:

  • Performing a variety of maintenance tasks related to office fit-outs, including but not limited to:
  • Basic carpentry (e.g., assembling furniture, installing shelving, minor repairs)
  • General repairs and maintenance (e.g., fixing door handles, patching walls, unblocking drains)
  • Painting and decorating (touch-ups and minor works)
  • Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., fixing leaks, unblocking sinks)
  • Basic electrical tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, testing equipment - if qualified and competent)
  • Assisting with the installation of office furniture and equipment.
  • Moving and handling of materials and equipment safely.
  • Ensuring work areas are clean and tidy.
  • Always following health and safety regulations.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the Project Manager.
  • Potentially assisting with site setup and breakdown.
  • Other general maintenance and odd jobs as required.


Essential Skills & Qualifications :

  • Full UK Driving Licence will be required
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance role.
  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is essential.
  • A good understanding of health and safety regulations within a construction environment.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
  • Reliable and punctual.


Desirable but not essential skills:

  • Experience in office fit-out environments.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Painting and decorating experience.
  • First Aid certification.
