An established industry player is seeking a Mobile Library Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role involves providing essential library services to rural communities, requiring strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently. You'll be responsible for the administration of the Mobile Library service, engaging with the public both in person and over the phone. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as you will occasionally serve in a mobile library van. You will be helping to look after the administration of the Mobile Library and delivery service which operates across the county providing library services to rural communities.
This role is varied and involves dealing with the public by telephone and face to face, as well as helping to look after the administration of the department. You will be occasionally serving the public in a small mobile library van and will put together and deliver collections of items to the hospital library service. The ability to get on with a wide cross section of the community is important.
You will need to be able to demonstrate you can work with people, have good basic administration, a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and can work using your own initiative. You will assist in producing marketing material and timetable information to promote the mobile library service.
The working times are Monday to Friday 1pm to 6pm, however, a flexible approach to work is essential for this position as these hours may vary occasionally to meet the needs of the service. This role is not suitable for remote working.
A clean B Class driving licence is essential for this position.
