Job description

Role

  • Writing letters to request financial support from local companies, trust funds, young farmers, masonic lodges, etc., based on needs identified within the branch area.
  • Monitor the Norfolk Community Foundation website, subscribe to their newsletter, and respond to appropriate opportunities to apply for funds.
  • Write letters to thank organisations who support us – liaise with the newsletter editor to ensure funds are acknowledged publicly where appropriate.
  • Provide feedback on the use of funds where required by the terms of the grant (the committee will provide assistance in gathering data to support submission).

This role will suit you if you have:

  • An interest in presenting a case for funding – this would involve working with the Branch treasurer and committee members to identify areas which might benefit from additional funding and trying to spread our funding stream across the financial year.
  • Good literary and computer skills.
  • A non-judgemental attitude and respect for diverse lifestyles.
  • A desire to increase your understanding of MND and its impact on families.

What’s in it for me?

  • Become part of a friendly and dedicated team.
  • Make a positive impact on the lives of people affected by MND.
  • Access a range of learning opportunities.
  • Develop charity fundraising skills.

We would like you to participate in e-learning to understand more about the disease, the work of the Association, and specifically the local branch. Members of the Branch committee, the Regional Fundraiser, and various members of our National Office staff will provide guidance and mentoring as appropriate. The branch can provide examples of letters used in the past.

Time commitment
Time requirement is flexible but might reasonably be about 4 hours per month. The role would involve working from home and contact with the Regional Fundraiser and MND Association Trusts team, including some evenings and weekends.

About the organisation
