Role Overview:
You will play a critical role in the design, simulation, and testing of electronic circuits for various automotive projects. The role is remote during the design and initial testing phase, with occasional on-site work in the UK during the system integration phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and test mixed signal electronic circuits for automotive applications.
- Simulate and validate electronic designs to meet project specifications.
- Contribute to battery management system designs including cell balancing and coulomb counting.
- Develop power supply systems, focusing on low-power DC-DC converters and USB-C power delivery.
- Implement microcontroller designs and integrate with peripheral circuits.
- Ensure designs meet high levels of electromagnetic compatibility.
- Prepare detailed documentation of design decisions and processes.
- Collaborate with remote and on-site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electronics design, particularly in designing rather than reviewing or commenting.
- Proficiency in battery monitor design, cell balancing, and current measurement circuit design.
- Expertise in designing microcontroller and peripheral circuits.
- Experience with low-power DC-DC converter designs (up to 300W, 3.3V to 48V).
- Capability in designing USB-C power delivery systems (up to 240W per port).
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, and SMBus.
- Familiarity with designing galvanic isolation circuits.
- Proven ability to design for high electromagnetic compatibility.
- Access to a home laboratory for testing and validation purposes.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice, QSpice, or Tina-TI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture is beneficial but not required.
- Access to live schematic editing with an Altium license and A365 is preferred.
Work Conditions:
- Fully remote work during the design and power-up phases.
- Occasional on-site work in the UK during system integration (location to be confirmed).
