Mig/Tig Welder
Daventry
Full time (Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:15pm & Friday 7am - 1pm)
£38,610 (£16.50ph)

Our Daventry based client has over 50 years of manufacturing experience in fabricated metal products. They are looking for experienced MIG / TIG welders to join them on a permanent basis, providing to a variety of industries including automotive, agriculture, bus, and yellow truck good and general engineering businesses. The production welder positions will be working on a variety of components and working from engineering drawings, with the majority of the welding on mild steel.

Key Duties:
  1. Set, operate and maintain the MIG and TIG Welder machines and related tools and equipment.
  2. MIG Welding with mild steel mainly.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings in order to lay out a welding project.
  4. Test and inspect welded surfaces to ensure compliance with customers' specifications.
  5. Use measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to inspect the parts.
  6. Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as and when required.
  7. Some general fabrication duties such as cutting and smoothing metal components, using plasma cutters, portable grinders, etc., and boring holes through metal work pieces using a drill press.
  8. Meeting production deadlines.
  9. Report any faults found to the Production Supervisors.
  10. Adhere to all Health and Safety legislation at all times.

The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Experienced MIG / TIG Welder.
  2. Ability to work from engineering drawings & specifications.
  3. Ability to work to deadlines.
  4. Confident in working with stainless & mild steel.
