Job description

The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking a part-time middle school science educator to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a 0.25 FTE position teaching one section of 8th grade environmental science.

Our middle school science program includes three courses: life science (grade 6), physical science (grade 7), and environmental science (grade 8). At Meadowbrook, smart, passionate people join together in an expansive learning environment with rigorous academics and innovative curricula to inspire, challenge, and empower students to achieve at the highest level, connect deeply with a diverse community, and courageously create change. Teachers with coaching experience are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will:

  • Leverage two state of the art science classrooms and an innovation center and makerspace as a part of the department’s long-standing engagement with project-based learning and design thinking.
  • Utilize Meadowbrook’s 30-acre campus as an outdoor classroom.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience and ability to design effective science curricula.
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom.
  • Adept at SEL methods to help students thrive; previous experience with Responsive Classroom and/or RULER highly preferred.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with classroom uses of technology is a plus.

Annualized salary for faculty is determined according to a step scale commensurate with experience. Meadowbrook offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance plans, a school-matched retirement plan and paid time off.
