Job description

Mid-weight Graphic Designer

London (hybrid, 2-3 days in-office)

We’re looking for a London–based mid–weight graphic designer who doesn’t mind spending part of their day rubbing their coworker’s ears. We should probably point out that you’ll have other responsibilities too.

As part of The Disobedient, Edgard & Cooper’s creative studio, you’ll be tasked with telling the rest of the world what over a million pets already know: That Edgard & Cooper makes amazing nutritious pet food. You’ll do so using digital, print, and retail touchpoints at a minimum. Ideally, you have strong executional skills already but want to develop your conceptual thinking.

And if you do your job as we expect, you’ll be doing some of the best work of your career, all while helping to establish one of the most loved brands ever. Yep, it’s gonna be you, us, and the dogs that often wander the office, against the world.

Responsibilities

As our creative director likes to say, “The worst thing you can do is everything we ask.” In other words, The Disobedient is an ideal home for creatives who are proactive self–starters – the kind of creatives that don’t limit their thinking to what they’re tasked with. All that said, there are plenty of things we do ask:

  • Design for digital, print, and in-store POS using our evolved brand guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Design and cross-functional teams to solve creative challenges
  • Contribute to concepting and brainstorming sessions, adding fresh ideas and perspectives
  • Own projects from brief to execution, balancing creativity with business needs
  • Stay up to date with design trends and push for new, innovative approaches
  • Take feedback constructively and iterate quickly to refine and improve work
  • Be kind of funny, at least sometimes
Skills & Capabilities

If you’re a really good photographer, your skills will come in handy. If you dabble in editing, or have an encyclopedic knowledge of music, those talents are useful too. Considering the breadth of ways we’re bringing Edgard & Cooper to life, odds are good that any talent or passion you have could find a home here as well. In the meantime, it would also probably be helpful to check a few of these boxes:

  • 4+ years of experience in graphic design
  • A strong portfolio showcasing design craft and an understanding of brand storytelling
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (bonus: Figma, motion, or 3D skills)
  • Experience designing for both digital and print, with knowledge of production processes
  • A proactive mindset—able to take ownership of tasks while collaborating effectively
  • Eager to grow conceptually, with a sharp eye for detail and a drive to make outstanding work
  • A healthy dissatisfaction with everything you’ve ever done – one that serves as a motivation to constantly improve
Our benefits
  • Salary package including pension plan, health insurance and Deliveroo for Work
  • Certified B Corp Employer with supportive policies and practices to ensure we are one happy pack
  • Company retreats to meet each other in person
  • Flexibility to work from home to enjoy a better work-life balance
  • Pets at work, recognizing the joy and comfort of having your furry friend by your side
  • Unlimited Pet food because a happy pet equals a happy family
  • Volunteering day to contribute to a cause we believe in.
  • Wellbeing program access to qualified counseling because caring for ourselves is just as important as caring for our pets
  • Gym membership via Classpass
  • 25 days paid holiday a year
  • Work from anywhere for one month per year to pursue personal interests
  • 1 month unpaid leave, giving you some extra time to recharge and come back to work refreshed
