Main Responsibilities

The Microsoft Azure Solution Architect will be responsible for the hands-on implementation, optimization, and support of cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The role requires deep technical expertise in Azure services, experience with migrating services from on-premises to the cloud, and the ability to work on complex projects requiring immediate, practical solutions.

He/she will be part of a European cross-functional team to plan and supervise tasks and ensure coordination.

Key Responsibilities

As a Microsoft Azure solutions architect, you have subject matter expertise in designing cloud and hybrid solutions that run on Azure.

Your main responsibilities are related to the following subjects:

• Azure Environment Maintenance and Extension
• Azure Architecture Design and Implementation following Azure CAF Framework
• Application Consolidation and Modernization
• Hybrid and On-Premises Ecosystem Expertise
• Collaboration with the Project and Technical Team

Your responsibilities for this role include advising stakeholders and translating business requirements into designs for Azure solutions that align with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure. In this role, you implement solutions on Azure by partnering with various other job roles, including:

• Developers
• Administrators
• Security engineers

Other responsibilities are:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance Azure cloud solutions to meet specific business requirements.
• Lead hands-on migration of services and workloads from on-premises to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to best practices.
• Configure and deploy Azure resources, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security services.
• Implement governance frameworks for Azure environments, focusing on cost management, compliance, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Optimize Azure infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like Terraform or Bicep.
• Provide hands-on support for CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps processes.

Successful Candidate

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Skills:

• Design identity, governance, and monitoring solutions
• Design business continuity solutions
• Design infrastructure solutions
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Proven expertise in migrating services from on-premises to Azure.
• Strong skills in Azure Networking, Storage, and Security configuration.
• Advanced proficiency with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Entra ID for identity management.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation using PowerShell or Python.
• Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).

Certifications (preferred):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.

• Strong Communication and Alignment: Provides clear updates and ensures alignment with the project lead and technical team.

• Organizational Skills: Manages workloads and adheres to project deadlines.
• Languages: Fluent in English (must-have); German is highly desired.
• Cultural Awareness: Works well in multicultural and international teams.
