Job Title: Spanish Teacher

Location: Portsmouth, UK

Start Date: September 2025

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: £130 - £230 per day (depending on experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our modern languages department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Spanish to students across various age groups and abilities, inspiring a love for languages and a deeper understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish lessons in line with the curriculum.
  2. Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
  4. Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles.
  5. Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
  6. Contribute to the development of the Spanish curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
  7. Support students' language acquisition and cultural awareness through innovative teaching practices.

About the School:

The school is based in Portsmouth and is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 850 students in total. The school has a keen interest in promoting the learning of multiple languages in its students, as well as creating a friendly and enthusiastic environment through all aspects of teaching. The school places great value in their staff and offers free parking for all staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Spanish or related field.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  3. Proven experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level is preferred.
  4. Strong command of both Spanish and English languages.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  7. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
