Metrology Technician

Artifex Interior Systems is pleased to confirm the below opportunity within our business:

Main missions and results

1. Support Laboratory Manager/Lead and report on key measures.
2. Perform measurements using CMM machines/Portable Scanning Arm.
3. Write/modify CMM/Scanning Arm programs from information packs including part passports, drawings and CAD data as required.
4. Perform measurements using traditional measurement equipment e.g. micrometers, calipers, slips, DTIs etc.
5. Perform/participate in Gauge R&R Studies.
6. Perform capability studies.
7. Perform physical testing using a variety of test equipment.
8. Use problem solving techniques to assist in internal & external quality concerns – using multifunctional team support.
9. Working knowledge of quality technician role in all areas of the business.
10. Support customer sites as required.
11. Assistance in the control and maintenance of measuring/testing equipment and gauges.
12. Assistance in the control and maintenance of CMM programs in line with customer requirements.
13. Perform annual validation in line with schedule.

Preferred skills and experience

1. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings / CAD models.
3. Ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative to achieve objectives.
4. Ability to make informed decisions based on data and risk evaluation.
5. Ability to work as part of a team.
6. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
7. Good PC skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
8. Previous experience of using LK Camio software to operate CMM.
9. Ability to write/modify CMM programs using LK Camio software.
10. Ability to write/modify Portable Arm programs using PC-DMIS.
11. Ability to review data and generate informative reports.
