Job description

We are hiring METER READERS in your postcode now; no experience is required.

Are you looking for Full Time work, close to home?

Do you like working in an active outdoor role?

Do you want to take control of your schedule and work flexibly? If the answer is yes, then this could be the role for you.

As a Meter Reader you will be responsible for collecting data from gas, electricity & water meters for both commercial and residential properties. You will update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your handheld device, also entering the details on a handheld device at each location and providing excellent customer service.

What we offer:
  1. £12.61 - 13.00 per hour basic pay (weekly payment)
  2. Weekly Hours 40 - 45 hours a week with flexible start and finish times Monday - Friday (occasionally Saturday) between 8am - 8pm.
  3. £27,000 to £31,000 average annual earnings.
  4. Bonus scheme with earnings up to £1000 monthly.
  5. Overtime rates (£16 - £18) at manager's discretion.
  6. Business expenses reimbursed.
  7. Company pension enrolment.
  8. No previous experience required.
  9. Progression and promotion opportunities for higher earnings.
  10. Up to 28 days holiday per year (on an accrual basis).
  11. Full uniform and PPE provided.
  12. Company car.
  13. Full training will be provided.
What will you need:
  1. Full UK Driving Licence - Minimum 1 year, maximum 6 points, NO DR Offences
  2. Physically fit and have no issues with bending in tight spaces, lifting or kneeling, climbing stairs, crouching, and walking on average 6-7 miles a day.
  3. Happy to work in all weather conditions.
  4. Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
  5. Credit Report check (No county court judgements, IVA, debt relief orders recorded for the last 6 years)
  6. 5 years employment history.
  7. Previous Customer Service experience (preferred not essential)
Duties:
  1. Retrieving data from domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for Water, Gas and Electric Meters, full training will be given.
  2. Carry out visual inspections of associated metering equipment.
  3. Charge Point Surveys.
  4. Drive and motivation to work in an independent role.
  5. Friendly personality with a professional approach to work.
  6. Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
