As a Metallic Inspector, your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Measure and check parts for conformance to specification and perform other metrology and analysis tasks. Components could be made by any of the prevailing techniques used in Formula 1 vehicle manufacture – but predominantly metallic machining.
  2. Apply knowledge of manufacturing technologies to aid in inspection of metallic components.
  3. Use metrology tools and methods, including visual inspection, hand tools, programming and operating CMMs, use of Absolute/Romer arms (probing and scanning), shadowgraphs, surface testers, and contour tracing machines.
  4. Ensure that parts are inspected and processed during the required time periods.
  5. Show excellent communication skills in reporting pertinent information to designers, manufacturers, and other members of the team.
  6. Demonstrate effective organization along with a proactive approach to using procedures that encourage continuous improvement. You will take pride in your work and be able to operate with minimum supervision.
  7. Be flexible to provide support in composite quality control if required.

We are looking for a Metallic Inspector with the following skills and experience:

  1. Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
  2. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  3. Previous experience with Polyworks software is highly advantageous.
  4. Experience in working with high-performance metallic components, ideally in motorsport or a similar industry, is preferred.
  5. A solutions-focused approach, proactive in resolving any challenges faced, seeking input as required and delivering to agreed deadlines.
  6. A collaborative and innovative work style and the ability to maintain clarity whilst working under pressure.

Please note this role is working on a Night Shift: Monday to Thursday.
