Metal Trader

A Japanese trading company is looking for a motivated and dynamic Metal Trader who can establish and maintain strong relationships with customers while driving business development.
The ideal candidate will have solid trade knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in the metal trading industry. A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is essential.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 8:45-17:00
SALARY: £35k – £42k
START: Start from April 2025 onwards
LOCATION: London

Metal Trader Main Responsibilities:

1. Sales and purchase of raw metal materials
2. Market research
3. Finding new suppliers and customers
4. Negotiating contracts (both internally and with clients)
5. Customer service of handling any problems that may arise
6. Business trips to continental Europe

Metal Trader Ideal Candidate:

1. Experience in a similar B2B sales role
2. Knowledge of import & export is essential
3. Fluency in English
4. Fluency in another language would be beneficial – Italian, German, or Japanese
5. Experience working in a Japanese corporate environment is essential
6. Trade-related experience or knowledge of trade would be advantageous
7. Proficiency in PC skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
8. Motivated with a passion to develop their skills
9. The ability to learn and adapt quickly to environments and changing markets
10. Team player but also able to take the initiative to move on an individual level
11. Being able to work under pressure, managing time efficiently and prioritising effectively
