Mental Health Therapist: School-based – RRSEC

Lighthouse Child & Family Services (LCFS) is looking for caring and motivated Mental Health Therapists (or Clinical Trainees) to join our dynamic School-Linked Behavioral Health (SLBH) team.

This position will serve students enrolled in Rum River Special Education Cooperative (RRSEC) which is a level 4 education setting. Ideally, this position will split time between the Cambridge and Milaca campuses.

What You’ll Be Doing

Therapist Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical mental health services to students and their families within school district buildings along with in-home and community settings as needed
  • Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy or skills training to students and their families
  • Complete documentation and data collection in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate ability and skills to use EHR system for client appointments/documentation and Microsoft Office products such as Teams and Outlook
  • Multitask and collaborate with colleagues while maintaining the ability to work independently
  • Attend school meetings and collaborate with school personnel
  • Continue progression towards licensure and follow supervision requirements (if not fully licensed)
  • Light cleaning/tidying up your office space as needed
  • Other duties as needed to support our clients and SLBH team

What You’ll Need

Therapist Requirements/Qualifications

  • An awarded master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Be on the path to LMFT, LPCC, LP, LICSW licensure (or already licensed).
  • A reliable car, driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check facilitated through MN DHS that may include fingerprinting and photo identification.

  • Student Loan Forgiveness:Certain locations are approved for fully licensed Mental Health Therapists to apply to receive up to $50,000 over two years through the National Health Service Corps.
  • Free Supervision:Available to pre-licensed Clinical Trainees on track to obtain their LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure ($4,000 – $6,000 annual benefit)

Flexible workday options may also be available. Examples for full-time (40hr/week) staff include five 8-hour workdays, four 10-hour workdays, or a combination of four 9-hour workdays and one 4-hour workday.
  • In-house Operations Staff:Access to dedicated Operations staff assigned to duties such as intake/referral processing, appointment and waitlist management, client insurance and billing management, and credentialing support.
  • Organic Referral Sources:Receive client referrals from existing agency and community partners.

Compensation and Classification

Mental Health Therapist (or Clinical Trainee)

  • Compensation Range:$24.50 – $33.00 per hour (DOQE)
  • Job Status:Full-time; 40 hours/week
  • Job Classification:Non-exempt
