As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational, and clinically focused. Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA, this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting, supporting, and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills, and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern, Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training, and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and two years of direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, health, recreation, criminal justice, or counseling.
