Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Mental Health Nurse to join the Berkshire CAMHS Anxiety Disorders Treatment Team (ADTT).

BHFT CAMHS ADTT members are passionate about using individualised and formulation-led evidence-based approaches to help children, young people and families. We provide specialist assessments and treatment for children and young people suffering with anxiety disorders, OCD and Tic Disorders across Berkshire. The ADTT team prides itself on our inclusive practice, particularly our work with neurodivergent families. Our team has good research links and is pleased to offer training placements to Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Trainee CBT Therapists and Specialist Psychiatry registrars. As well as a culture of adult learning, we also have a compassionate ethos within the team which permeates throughout our work, and which is remarked upon by all clinicians who work with us.

The post holder will provide short-term intervention, ongoing patient reviews and multi-agency consultation and liaison. The post holder will contribute to and chair meetings to enhance collaborative working and promote positive outcomes. Developing knowledge of local agencies and building relationships to enhance patient care is crucial. Collaboration with other CAMHS Teams to meet the needs of young people is essential.

We are able to be flexible with this role and are open to considering either full or part time hours for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will also undertake shift lead duties, coordinate the shift, and have oversight of incoming referrals, and delegate tasks.

  • The post holder will be expected to conduct reviews, care planning and provide group and individual treatment.

The post holder will offer support and risk management for young people awaiting treatment, perform comprehensive assessment including mental state, risk, and psychosocial factors, and develop appropriate care or safety plans as well as being able to devise a clinical formulation from assessment.

The post holder will also undertake shift lead duties, coordinate the shift, and have oversight of incoming referrals, and delegate tasks.

The post holder will provide short-term intervention, ongoing patient reviews and multi-agency consultation and liaison.

The post holder will contribute to and chair meetings to enhance collaborative working and promote positive outcomes.

The post holder will provide support to young people and families who are waiting for treatment to start.

The post holder will collaborate with multidisciplinary team clinicians and multi-agency representatives to ensure the delivery of integrated and holistic client care.

The post holder will actively engage in the quality improvement and service development of CAMHS services.
