Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs - Bristol

Would you like a role supporting the mental health of young people? A great platform for future psychologists, therapists or counsellors to gain relevant experience.

Key Details:

  1. Start ASAP
  2. £90 - £125 per day, depending on experience
  3. Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  4. Term time only
  5. Bristol - BS16
  6. Ideal for Psychology/Counselling Graduates

A school that specialises in accommodating children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs is looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with behavioural and mental health issues.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working with SEN students aged 8 to 18 to support their wellbeing and personal development.
  2. Work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school.
  3. Build frontline, practical experience with young people with significant SEMH needs.
  4. Gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs such as Autism and ADHD.

The right candidate:

  1. Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as a Teaching Assistant for children with mental health issues.
  2. Enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEMH.
  3. Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour.
