Job description

We are looking for a commercial and driven Department Manager to lead one of our Menswear Departments (Department Store Concession). The successful candidate will be a passionate and inspiring manager with in-depth knowledge of menswear fashion, someone able to lead the team from the front and deliver operational excellence at all times.

This is a full-time role which requires working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

Sales

  1. Manage the department's sales performance and service standards.
  2. Make the most effective use of space and stock available by maximizing sales and minimizing wastage of resources through the team.
  3. Ensure that the merchandise is displayed effectively using promotional material to reflect current demand.
  4. Lead by example in client recruitment and development of client loyalty through CRM activities.
  5. Achieve the Department capture rate and mystery result targets.
  6. Handle any situation with customers.
  7. Be aware of competitor activity and communicate this to the team.
  8. Possess full knowledge of back office functions and Department analysis (CRM, client recruitment, P&L, store activities, stock control, reports, VM rules, etc.).
Merchandise

  1. Ensure that the Department maintains the correct basic stock levels.
  2. Provide effective feedback to the Deputy Manager, ensuring that popular selling lines are replenished on time.
Controllable costs

  1. Control stock loss within Store budget and implement stock audits effectively.
  2. Ensure that the Department operates in accordance with Company administration systems and procedures to minimize losses.
Security

  1. Ensure that the Company procedures on security in relation to theft/pilferage are adhered to.
  2. Report all suspected shoplifters to Loss Prevention officers.
  3. Ensure that all staff are trained and know and follow the Company systems on: cash handling, credit authorization, acceptance of cheques, arrangement of staff purchases, reporting of stock, cash, and loss.
Employee relations and staff training/development

  1. Participate in the recruitment, training, evaluation, motivation, and development of the staff.
  2. Oversee and manage employee performance appraisals and highlight employees for development.
  3. Communicate effectively to develop a stable team and a succession plan for your business.
  4. Hold morning briefings and motivate the team to achieve the objectives.
  5. Network with Dior management to share best practices.
Health and safety

  1. Ensure that Health and Safety policy and procedures are adhered to within the concession for both staff and customers.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to work full-time.
  • Previous management retail experience ideally in the luxury goods.
  • Expertise in menswear.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Outstanding sense of customer service, sense of initiative, and commercial creativity with fashion sensitivity.
  • A passion for Christian Dior and our collections.
  • Strong knowledge of fashion and trends.
  • Fluency in a second language (preferred).
