The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity to recruit 2 Membership Officers (acquisition). One will focus on recruitment through internal and external events, and the other will focus on communications and recruitment campaigns.

The current role is based in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.

The purpose of the membership officer is to recruit new Fellows to the charity. The role-holder will deliver the growth and development of the charity's network of over 31,000 Fellows in line with the overarching operational strategy. This involves promoting Fellowship internally and externally through events, presentations, responding to enquiries effectively and generating leads, and delivering digital recruitment campaigns. The role-holder will have strong communication skills and be effective at persuading others to join a cause they are passionate about.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on specific recruitment sources to bring in new Fellows, particularly through internal and external events, other engagement opportunities, and digital recruitment campaigns.
  • Act as a point of contact for prospective Fellows, being able to outline in a compelling and confident manner the value of the charity's Fellowship to different audiences.
  • Showcase what the Fellowship has to offer to prospective Fellows, including by emails, phone calls, face-to-face or virtual meetings, delivering tours, and speaking engagements whilst always providing a high level of customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to promote Fellowship across the organisation to secure nominations of Fellows from existing staff and Fellows.
  • Manage and deliver webinars and events for those interested in hearing more about the Fellowship, to convince them to join.
  • Use our CRM system (Salesforce) and reporting software (Power-Bi) to track and monitor Fellowship recruitment, drawing on data to measure the success of different approaches and make decisions about priorities.
  • Work across multiple platforms (Salesforce, Eventbrite, Pardot, SharePoint) to coordinate Fellows and team administration, including keeping records up to date, running reports, and ensuring a positive Fellowship experience for members.

Person Specification:

  • Solid knowledge of customer services and response handling.
  • Knowledge of working in an admin-based role.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with MS Office.
  • Experience in persuading others to take action through one-to-one conversations and public speaking, whether in sales, marketing, campaigns or another capacity.
  • Strong persuasion skills, able to understand what motivates people and convince them to take action. Excellent written skills such as strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Excellent networking skills and the ability to engage new people effectively at events.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills such as speaking with a range of key stakeholders and managing expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to quickly build rapport with people at all levels and from a diverse range of professions, backgrounds, and enthusiasms.
