A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician to join our St Pancras Hospital pharmacy team at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical and professional knowledge and skills in both rehabilitation and elderly care healthcare services, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team in an inpatient setting.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust, we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues, and of course patients and service users when working in our healthcare settings.
You will need to demonstrate a person-centred approach and have effective interpersonal and organisational skills. Previous NHS Hospital pharmacy experience, including elderly care, would be desirable.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to engage with patients/carers, confidently complete medicine reconciliation, and deliver medication counselling. Additionally, you must be able to organise your workload and uphold standards of pharmacy practice, referring and reporting concerns when appropriate.
General medicines management skills are necessary for this role: stock management, ordering of patient medications, reducing wastage, and maintaining secure, safe environments.
You will also be expected to participate in the weekend and bank holiday rota, following a period of induction and training.
St Pancras Rehabilitation Unit Pharmacy team is an established team with a friendly, supportive culture with a strong emphasis on training and professional development opportunities.
CNWL has a strong commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and embedding effective medicines optimisation systems into patient care. The pharmacy team is recognised for the contribution it makes to the safe and effective use of medicines for patients.
If you are successful, you will work in a supportive, friendly, and forward-thinking environment. You will be encouraged and supported in your development, provide medicines optimisation services across St Pancras Rehabilitation unit, and actively participate in department-wide health and wellbeing initiatives.
