Job description

Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?

How we started:

Back in 2013, our founder Dwayne D'Souza saw an opportunity to give people faster and more convenient access to medications using technology. We've grown rapidly since our inception, without any external funding whatsoever - achieving profitability through innovation and a highly disciplined approach to growth.

Where we are now:

We've earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through our top-selling products and well-known brands: MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A lot of our success is down to having our own pharmacies, manufacturers and products - spearheaded by leading in-house medical teams, researchers and pharmacists. Our 2023 global revenue was $80m, and we're set to more than double this in 2024 as we look to surpass $200m and positively impact the daily lives of more people than ever before. There's never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX.

Where we're going:

Over the next five years, you'll support our goal to become a world-leading healthcare partner, deepening our customer relationships, expanding into new countries, and diversifying our product portfolio to treat more conditions. You'll be part of helping more people access prescription treatments and, most importantly, making personalised care better, quicker and easier for everyone.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Writer with a strong scientific background to join HeliosX. This role will focus on translating complex medical information, particularly in the realm of weight loss drugs, into clear, engaging, and accessible content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the latest scientific research, particularly on GLP-1 therapies, and will be adept at crafting accessible content that resonates with diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, marketing teams, and the general public.

The role will be offered as a 6 month fixed term contract, with full time hours. The successful candidate will be fully home based with no requirement to come into the office week to week.

What you'll do

  • Write scientifically accurate and engaging content on weight loss drugs and other emerging, novel therapies, including compounded Erectile Dysfunction medications.
  • Review and edit customer facing content for scientific accuracy, ensuring that all materials meet the highest standards of precision and evidence-based information.

  • Enhance the scientific credibility of our content across multiple platforms, improving engagement and trust with our audience.
  • Increase the visibility of our scientific team's work through participation in conferences, social media, and other public-facing platforms.
  • Keep up-to-date with scientific findings within GLP-1 research and perform regular evidence reviews.
What you'll bring to HeliosX
  • A strong scientific background with a degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field (BSc, MSc, PhD).
  • Proven experience working in the Health Tech or Digital Health industry.
  • Proven experience in developing scientific/medical communications or in a professional communications role (e.g. medical writer / Editor / Journalist), working to deliver scientific content across a range of media.
  • Excellent communication skills leading open and honest communications with stakeholders of all levels, being proactive and communicating clearly, confidently and with authenticity.
  • Good understanding of MHRA guidelines and ABPI code of practice for clinical content.
  • Proficiency in converting medical jargon into clear, accessible language.
  • Strong SEO skills with the ability to optimise content for search engines.
  • Experience using AI tools for research.
