A central University of Oxford department are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Statistician to join a multi-disciplinary research team. This temporary position involves supporting the design, analysis, and reporting of research projects within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Investigator, trial manager, data manager, and other key stakeholders to ensure the integrity and quality of trial data.
Duties:
Assist in the design and setup of research projects, contributing to protocol development and ethics submissions.
Develop and implement statistical programs for data analysis, including randomisation schedules and interim/final analyses.
Take responsibility for data integrity, ensuring robust statistical analysis and adherence to CTU Standard Operating Procedures.
Contribute to reports for Trial Steering Committees (TSC) and Data Safety Monitoring Committees (DSMC), as well as academic publications and presentations.
Provide statistical support and advice to researchers within the department and the PCVC-CTU, including assistance with grant applications.
Selection Criteria:
Higher degree in medical statistics or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in statistical programming and familiarity with statistical software such as Stata, SAS, or R.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
Strong knowledge of study design, statistical techniques, and data analysis methods.
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
