JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist


INDUSTRY: Private Medical


CONTRACT: Permanent


SALARY: up to £32,000


LOCATION: West End (5 days a week in the office)


Responsibilities:


  1. Answering telephone calls and addressing inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  2. Taking messages and responding to emails in a timely manner.
  3. Handling correspondence and maintaining accurate medical records.
  4. Registering patients and organising and maintaining both paper and electronic files.
  5. Using the DGL Practice Manager computer system to update and obtain patient information.
  6. Liaising with consultants, secretaries, and other agencies to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  7. Scheduling appointments, procedures, and tests, coordinating with internal and external departments.
  8. Preparing clinics by ensuring necessary lists are faxed or emailed to relevant locations.
  9. Keeping the Practice Manager informed about clinic-related issues and any complaints.
  10. Collecting appointment deposit payments via phone and credit card machine.
  11. Managing and organising the diary to ensure efficient scheduling.
  12. Performing audio typing and data entry tasks.
  13. Assisting patients with queries regarding prescriptions, test results, and other concerns.
  14. Demonstrating multitasking skills and adaptability in a dynamic work setting.

Requirements:


  1. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  4. Proficiency in computer systems and software, including electronic medical records.
  5. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments.
