Media Manager

The Talent Set are excited to be working with a highly regarded Membership organisation who are looking for a creative Media Manager.

As the Media Manager you will play a key role in promoting the brand by utilising effective communication and working with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, and briefing materials for senior spokespeople.
2. Respond promptly and accurately to media inquiries, often under tight deadlines.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
4. Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage for key campaigns, initiatives, and events.
5. Provide clear and concise messaging, offering strategic advice to senior leadership in high-pressure situations.
6. Collaborate with other teams to ensure messaging is aligned and consistent across all communications.

Person Specification:

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content under pressure.
2. Previous experience in a membership organisation or charity.
3. Extensive experience working in a fast-paced media and communications team.
4. Proven track record in delivering high-quality media relations and communications services.
5. Experience building relationships with media outlets and successfully placing stories in regional and national press.
6. Skilled at identifying opportunities in the news agenda, handling reactive queries, and managing reputational risks.
7. Ability to write accurate, engaging, and SEO-optimized content for digital channels that is accessible, persuasive, and drives website traffic.
