Mechanical Technician

Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician for one of our clients based in BS14.

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Overtime Available), Monday to Friday

Job Description

Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, the responsibilities include:

1. Assemble and commission machines, machine modules, and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and 3D models.
2. Follow all department procedures.
3. Complete all quality documentation required for the tasks.
4. Identify problems with assemblies/parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures.
5. Operate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do so.
6. Support the sustainment and improvement of housekeeping and health and safety practices.
7. Support in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standards.
8. Assist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan to include on-time delivery and build efficiency.
9. Actively drive continuous improvement.
10. Any other reasonable request by the line management team.

Requirements

1. Apprentice trained.
2. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials.
3. Ability to understand mechanical design assembly.
4. Previous assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment.
5. Experience of assembling large fabricated parts to engineering drawings.
6. Ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined, and electrical components.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
8. Good numeracy.
9. Computer literate.
10. Hold a counterbalance forklift license (desirable).
11. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (desirable).
