Job description

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers to recruit a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the installation and finishing phases of wind farm sites across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will:

  1. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed during wind turbine installation.
  2. Oversee subcontractors to ensure quality and technical standards are met.
  3. Train and support team members and subcontractors on-site.
  4. Conduct mechanical quality checks and inspections.
  5. Review and maintain accurate installation reports and documentation.
  6. Manage tools and equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards.
  7. Report defects, missing parts, or issues to the site manager and assist with corrective actions.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. A degree-level qualification with proven experience in a similar role.
  2. Strong understanding of CDM site regulations.
  3. Experience in wind turbine installation, including working with cranes.
  4. The ideal candidate would have a CSCS and/or Irish Safe Pass.
Personal skills

The Mechanical Supervisor role would suit someone who is:

  1. Able to work in and lead a team.
  2. A systematic problem solver.
  3. Willing to travel regularly across the UK and internationally when needed.
  4. Able to demonstrate a practical and technical approach to operations.
Salary and benefits of the Mechanical Supervisor role
  1. Salary up to 45,000 depending on experience.
  2. 33 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
  3. 4-week work rotation (3 weeks on-site, 1 week off-site).
