Job description

Are you an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer looking for a stable and growing company? Do you have a strong background in industrial pumps, rotating machinery, and centrifugal systems? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! This is a field-based role covering the UK and Ireland, offering excellent earning potential through overtime.

BASIC SALARY: £45,000 - £48,000

LOCATION: Field-based, covering client sites across the UK and Ireland, with occasional visits to the West Midlands workshop for training, spares, and tools.

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Worcester

Why Apply?

As a Mechanical Service Engineer, you will play a key role in servicing, maintaining, and repairing industrial pumps, decanter centrifuges, separators, and various rotating machinery. This role involves a mix of planned maintenance, emergency breakdown response, and occasional installation and commissioning work at customer sites.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Servicing and repairing industrial pumps, decanter centrifuges, separators, and rotating machinery.
  2. Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out necessary repairs.
  3. Conducting routine and reactive maintenance on customer sites.
  4. Installing and commissioning machinery across various industries, including Water Utilities, Food & Drink, Chemicals, Brewing, and Pharmaceuticals.
  5. Working with measuring instruments to ensure precision maintenance and servicing.
  6. Staying away on average one night per week as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Service Engineer with a strong mechanical background.

You will have:

  1. Experience working with heavy rotating equipment, pumps, and similar industrial machinery.
  2. Mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  3. Familiarity with measuring instruments and precision maintenance.
  4. Experience in the water or power generation industries (advantageous).
  5. Previous experience servicing centrifuges (highly desirable).
