Job Opportunity: Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Chichester
Salary: Up to GBP50,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Mechanical Project Engineer to join a dynamic team. This role involves assisting the Project Manager in overseeing onsite project work, including site surveys, technical specifications, quoting, delivery, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on health and safety, ensuring adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001), environmental policies (ISO 14001), and health and safety requirements (ISO 45001).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients to gather project requirements.
  2. Build detailed technical specifications based on client needs, including site information and photographs.
  3. Maintain transparent project documentation using the company job costing system.
  4. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to develop pricing, scopes, and specifications.
  5. Support the Project Manager in procuring materials and organizing subcontractor attendance.
  6. Assist in preparing and issuing job-specific RAMS and client health and safety paperwork.
  7. Attend client meetings and provide on-site supervision as required.
  8. Ensure all specialist subcontractors comply with approved RAMS and adhere to site safety procedures.
  9. Support the commissioning process and produce QA or commissioning documents as necessary.
  10. Coordinate with workshop teams to ensure work aligns with specifications and pricing models.
Desired Skills & Qualifications (Not Essential):
  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. Full UK driving licence.
  3. Understanding of onsite health and safety rules and regulations.
  4. Confined space and water hygiene knowledge (training available if needed).
  5. Engineering background, ideally with Water Utilities or Power Industry experience.
  6. Strong communication and organizational skills.
