Mechanical Engineering Technician
Location: Near Cardiff
Industry: Chemical / COMAH / Paper Mill / Power / Biomass / Steel

Your Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, your focus will be on minimising downtime and improving plant reliability:

Respond to breakdowns and contribute to long-term reliability strategies

Use FMEA, RCM, and predictive maintenance (PdM) tools

Maintain and repair pumps, boilers, compressors, pipelines, and pressure vessels

Operate condition monitoring tools (vibration, thermography, ultrasound)

Keep CMMS systems up-to-date and enhance maintenance workflows

Supervise contractors during shutdowns, turnarounds, and projects

What We're Looking For

Completed Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications

Hands-on, practical experience in mechanical maintenance

Familiarity with industrial safety systems (CMMS, permits, risk assessments)

Previous work in heavy industrial or COMAH environments is highly desirable
